Genetically, Zion is a red tabby carrying the dominant white (W) gene, which fully masks his underlying coat color, giving him his striking solid white appearance. This is a naturally occurring and well-documented genetic trait in Maine Coons, where the dominant white gene acts as a “mask,” covering the base color without impacting temperament, health, or breed integrity. Zion’s expressive eyes are transitioning into rich gold/copper, consistent with his parentage, and will continue to deepen as he matures. Zion has been evaluated for hearing and hears perfectly normally.
